Until just one day before JetPower 2026, it was completely uncertain whether we would be able to get two F-14 TOMCATs airborne at the same time. The weeks and months leading up to the event had been filled with frustration, long evenings in the workshop, and recurring issues with the hydraulic system of my new F-14 XXL.

It wasn’t until the day we were due to leave that we knew both aircraft would make the trip to the show and that the technology was finally working as intended. The effort paid off: During JetPower, we were able to fly both F-14 XXLs together for only the third, fourth, and fifth time ever. After almost a year of development, construction, and fine-tuning work on my Tomcat, this was the well-deserved reward for what had felt like an endless journey.

The cherry on the cake came on site and completely spontaneously: Alex Stobinski joined our flight slot and performed the legendary Top Gun Anthem live on his electric guitar while the two Tomcats roared across the sky. This unique combination of model aviation, live music, and atmosphere gave us goosebumps and, I’m convinced, did the same for many of the spectators in Breitscheid.

Looking back, JetPower 2026 was much more than just one of the major events of the year for us. It marked the successful conclusion of a long project, the reward for countless hours of work, and above all, an unforgettable experience shared between father and son. And I had the pleasure to fly my 1/5 F-16 in the airshow slot for Pilot-RC.

For that reason, the combination of live music and four jet turbines powering the two Tomcats is set to continue next year – most likely at our Airshow 2027 in Untermünkheim.
